And Whoever desires to be first among you,
let him be your slave—
just as the Son of Man did not come to be served,
but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
(Matthew 20:27-28 NKJV)
Many people have forgotten that the word “minister” means” servant.” The idea of “ministry” is service rendered in regard to the needs of others. In this section of the site we are presenting ministries the church uses to reach people for Christ.
It is important to realize that being a part of a local church includes the opportunity to serve others. The first exposure most people have to a church is through a specialized ministry aimed at their interest and carried out by a committed volunteer. We invite you to be a part of the ministries targeted at preschoolers, elementary children, teens and adults!
We have prepared pages to explain our ministries to you divided by age group. Feel free to browse and find out everything that might be helpful to you and your family! Our regular weekly ministries take place Sunday morning (Sunday School) and Wednesday nights (AWANA Clubs and teen ministry). Other ministries usually meet less than weekly (usually monthly).
Please remember as you browse that a church exists for more than meeting the desires of a spiritual “consumer” or customer. Evergreen is a congregation of God’s people sacrificially working together, not
a crowd of shoppers looking for the best deal. These ministries are intended to not only bless you, but to prepare you to be a blessing to others!
I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ (Acts 20:35b NKJV)
