2A. SELF-CONTROL IS A KEY PROOF OF THE HOLY SPIRIT’S PRESENCE.

1B. IT IS A REQUIREMENT FOR PASTORS.

2B. IT IS A GOAL FOR ALL BELIEVERS.

So how do these all fit together?

• “Love” – the overarching trait of the Spirit’s work, making my priority to love God and those made in His image.
• “Self-control” – the foundational trait of the Spirit’s work, making all the other traits possible and consistent.
• All – characteristics of the fruit produced by walking in the Spirit as we profit from spiritual discipline.
