Being a servant is not recreational, but it is beneficial - both to the servant and the one served. A large part of youth ministry is developing young people into faithful disciples of Christ who find joy and excitement in serving others.

Jesus was the ultimate servant. Matthew 20:28 says,... the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Jesus modeled the true nature of a servant in God’s economy - one who does good to others to be used of God in accomplishing His purposes for them.

Evergreen Youth Ministry seeks to glorify God by serving others. This goal is met by taking on work projects - an activity we call a “Doulos Day.” “Doulos” means servant or slave in the Greek New Testament. For those who already belong to Christ, we seek to be an encouragement. To those who do not know Christ, we seek to be a light in this dark world.
